Very interesting article written by Bob Griffin from EMC Security in the Irish Examiner.

Link to the article – Cyberwall & IT Security

In summary – Cyber criminals are increasingly targeting users as opposed to systems.
You should or may want a sophisticated anti cyber crime solution for your company but all companies can improve protection by initiating some basic “security hygiene”.
So, you and your colleagues should consider:
• Updating software and patches
• Creating stronger Passwords for your systems.
• Changing passwords.
• DELETING and NOT opening unsolicited emails, (more than half of Irish users admit to opening such mails, which is the main source of RANSOMWARE!!!)
• Not opening attachments unless you are certain who it is from AND why they are sending.
• Deleting email accounts and user profiles of employees that have left the company.

IT Security involves managing many layers of security / protection.

Your company may be vulnerable to one or all of these areas. Again, even at a basic level you might consider the above to maximise your IT security.

If you are worried about any of the above areas….or other IT issues, then please call us to discuss.
